Welcome to The Accountability Project (TAP) an initiative to enhance sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) through meaningful accountability. 

Accountability can help build trust with stakeholders, drive improvements in organizational performance, and earn respect for leaders in sustainable development.

The Accountability Project is for leaders and managers of organizations that need to:

  • Improve usefulness, relevance and reliability of their social, environmental, CSR, "triple bottom line" or sustainable development reporting,

  • Demonstrate accountability to multiple stakeholders,

  • Enhance the credibility of their reporting, and

  • Build organizational effectiveness through social auditing.

The Accountability Project is also for professionals who need to develop skills in the following areas:

  • implementing sustainability systems and programmes;

  • reporting on sustainability performance;

  • engaging with stakeholders; and

  • assuring information and underlying systems for stakeholders.

The Accountability Project workshops are based on internationally recognized guidelines and standards which include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • ISO 26000 Guidance Standard on Social Responsibility (2009 draft) 

  • UN Global Compact

  • Global Reporting Initiative - G3 Sustainability Guidelines

  • AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard

  • AA1000 Assurance Standard
